The following statement may be attributed to Monita Fontaine, Executive Director of the Personal Watercraft Industry Association.

“We are disappointed.  e were always aware that the burden of proof for a preliminary injunction is very high.  We remain steadfast in our belief that none of these bans should go forward because there is no rational basis to single out personal watercraft for banning in public parks that allow motorized boating. The science just isn’t there.

“We will continue to seek to lift these bans, encouraging scientific studies to be conducted in the parks, so that all concerned parties learn that today’s personal watercraft are indeed cleaner, quieter and safer, and that they should not be discriminated against where other motorized boats are allowed."
