Bombadier Introduces the New Era In Watercraft:
The New 2002 Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC and GTX DI

Stuart, Florida - Bombardier Recreational Products has taken the most popular watercraft platform of all time and made it better. Introducing the 2002 Sea-Doo® GTX 4-TEC TM and GTX DI watercraft, the next evolution of the legendary GTX watercraft line. The 2002 GTX 4-TEC will be the first four-stroke engine powered Sea-Doo watercraft and features the new innovative and responsible Sea-Doo O.P.A.S TM (Off Power Assisted Steering) system. These and other technological and design advances set the stage for a new era in watercraft.

Bombardier created the three-passenger watercraft segment in 1990 with the Sea-Doo GT TM watercraft and has pioneered many innovations since. The bar has again been raised with the 2002 Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC watercraft. Powered by the all new 155 horsepower, 1494cc three cylinder Rotax® 4-TEC engine, the 2002 Sea-Doo GTX 4-TEC will change everything the world has ever known about watercraft. Power, more environmentally-friendly and innovation reach new levels with the engine. The 4-TEC is the most powerful mass-produced engine ever in a Sea-Doo watercraft and exceeds 2006 EPA environmental standards.

The 2002 GTX 4-TEC offers watercraft enthusiasts a new feeling with an engine that literally purrs and provides better acceleration than any luxury performance three-passenger Sea-Doo watercraft before it. The low-end torque of the new 1500 4-TEC 155 hp engine powered through an all new 10-vane water jet pump, and straight-line tracking of the new hull makes the 2002 GTX 4-TEC a great watercraft for towing wakeboarders, skiers and tubes. Totally unique to watercraft, the Rotax four-stroke engine emits a rich, low-frequency purr at speed and offers ultra smooth operation. Also integrated into the GTX 4-TEC hull is a revolutionary cooling system. This engineering feat includes a closed-loop cooling system that uses the rideplate as a heat exchanger for the engine coolant in the same fashion as an automobile radiator. The new GTX design is also offered with the exclusive Orbital1 Direct Injection technology watercraft engine.

Committed to responsible boating, Bombardier leads again with its GTX 4-TEC and GTX DI watercraft and its newest innovation: the Sea-Doo O.P.A.S system. This system provides added maneuverability by assisting the steering of the watercraft in off-throttle and off-power situations. The system can easily be seen on each side of the hull on equipped models in the form of spring-loaded rudders. The GTX 4-TEC and all DI models will also feature the responsible and innovative Sea-Doo Learning Key TM, which limits RPMs keeping top speed around 35 mph, so that less-experienced riders may learn to operate the watercraft responsibly and with greater confidence and control.

The 2002 GTX 4-TEC and GTX DI have taken the luxury performance category to an all-new level of design and engineering. With a combined storage space of 52.6 gallons, over twice the storage of the previous GTX, the new GTX 4-TEC and GTX DI have plenty of room for almost anything you would want for a fun-filled day on the water.

The deck is another work of art from the award-winning Sea-Doo design team. It features precisely tailored lines and overall elegant proportions that flow gracefully from bow to stern while the flared shear line effectively reduces spray. The new hull design offers operators a drier ride with musclecraft-type precision handling. On the bow, the distinct ridged "gills" are engineered to redirect spray away from the operator, thus offering a clear line of vision and increased comfort.

Bombardier Recreational Products designs, develops, builds, distributes and markets Ski-Doo® and Lynx® snowmobiles, snowgrooming equipment and multi-purpose tracked vehicles, Sea-Doo® watercraft and sport boats and Bombardier® all-terrain vehicles. Snowmobiles, ATVs, watercraft and some sport boats are powered by Rotax® engines that are designed and built by Bombardier-Rotax GmbH, which also builds motors for motorcycles, scooters, karts and aircraft. In March 2001, the group acquired the Evinrude® and Johnson® outboard marine engines as well as the Ficht Ram Injection® technology.
